Hi There, I have heard you can make your own chalk paint with calcium carbonate, and want to give it a go. Does anyone know how much calcium carbonate I am supposed to mix with the paint? I can find DIY recipes in the US, but I am not sure if we have the same sort of paint here, as they call it latex. Also, I have read you can use emulsion, but I'm not sure if emulsion would work on wood? Or do I have to use gloss? Can anyone shed any light? I know I am meant to coat with wax afterwards, so if anyone knows a cheap way of making DIY wax, then that would be great too.
