How do I get one? Do I have to be a building professional? I need some new doors and possibly a kitchen worktop. From the Howdens in Kingston.

I think you need to own a company.....not sure what you have to provide to prove you have your own company though. Confused

Having Googled, it seems they accept a letter head.

Dh has trade cards, not sure about howdens, but for others they usually want to see a business account cheque book or bank card.

Howdens are pretty strict. We are a legitimate fit-out company, but I had to buy through one of my contractors - they wouldn't let me purchase an additional worksurface for a project, as we didn't have an account.

They then contacted the contractor's 'home' branch, to confirm that everything was in order.

We borrowed our builders card. Could you borrow one? Worth remembering that all of the branches are separate and are in competition with each other...
