Posted this week about our ten month saga, selling our flat. It was flooded two weeks before completion. Well hooray it was today, or maybe not. The buyers paid their money and waited for the keys except no-one had them. We got a phone call from the estate agent wanting the keys urgently. No you have them, no we don't. So we realise the contractor had them except he is on holiday and not back till the second of September. Getting somewhere now or maybe not. He doesn't know where they are. I get back to his office and told them that a furniture van is sitting outside and if they can't get in they will be charged for the removal, possible hotel accommodation plus all the rest. After a few phone calls a locksmith is not his way could we meet him. We we live at the opposite end of the country so that's not possible. He arrives and can't get into the building, could we meet him, no we live at the opposite end of the country. We have left it with the solicitor because we have just about lost the will to live.
