Induction Hob - 60cm or 80cm?

Just that really - I have lived for the last 20 years with a gas hob where one of the burners worked sporadically, so really only 3. I am now switching to an induction hob and wondering whether a standard 4 hob is enough or a wider 5 hob would be a bit more comfortable especially high days and holidays.

Any opinions gratefully received! Also trying to work out if Neff edgeless hob is easier to clean than a Siemens edged one.

I have the larger Neff one and love it.

If you are not short of counter space I'd suggest the wider hob. You'd also need a wider extractor so consider the effect on the wall units too.

My old edged hob needed to be cleaned with a toothpick from time to time so I've gone for edgeless in my new kitchen (being fitted tomorrow).

Edgeless are so easy to clean its unreal. We never use more than 4 burners, but I do think the wider ones look lovely if you have a big kitchen.

Go for the wider edge less one.

Wider just much easier (and remember its kinda counter top space when you're not using it so going bigger doesn't impact on counter top space.)

I've had edge less and edged. I'm a bit of a slattern about cleaning but the bits under the frame of the edge drove me crazy. It's really worth the investment.

You'll love induction, it's fab!

I have a 90 cm Miele without an edge. Very easy to clean and not a mark on it after several years. Copes with all sizes of pans. It's the best. I would not have a 60cm one as I think the bigger ones cope better with family cooking needs.

We've just had our new kitchen fitted including a 5 ring 90 cm wide Siemens induction hob. I've cleaned it a few times (the dust from building work and kitchen fitting is ridiculous) and it's an absolute dream to clean. There's no edge to it so even easier.

My previous Neff glass gas hob was such a bind to clean.

We have the neff one with 3 ringed areas and a large rectangular area that you can use in a variety of ways (big pans, lots of pans, fish kettle etc). It has a removable magnetic controller - so when not in use it just looks part of the work surface. It is easy to clean.

That's unanimous for edgeless big then.
Thank you all!
