Ugly bathroom, ideas wanted!

OK; the en-suite in my new house is a bit ugly! The suite is salmon, the tiles round it are grey, the walls were pink but I have repainted them greyish/mauve which looks just as bad! The manky carpet is moss green. There is an 80s grey and pink blind. I dont want to replace the suite while it's functioning, as it doesn't annoy me that much; but any ideas how to decorate it better? Thanks :)

I know this is a peppermint suite but it's a bit retro with a few updated bits which could work?

Salmon is a bit of a challenge colour wise though! Ice blue might work as a highlight colour, with plain white (or bone) walls and tiles?

Another option could be to go really angular and masculine (black, grey) to reduce the impact of the salmon? Eg...

I love that Very - reminds me of 50s/60s US motel bathrooms. They usually have white suites, but the tiling can be great, with coloured borders, etc.

Pull up the carpet and put down laminate / tiles?

Some great ideas thank you :) Yes the carpet definitely has to be replaced by tiles and I think mid to dark grey walls might be worth a try! Though the salmon is pretty grim! Appreciated :)

I like the idea of making the rest of it very masculine: greys for walls and bath panel, black floor tiles/vinyl, rather spartan. Just avoid anything fussy, frilly, or floral.

I'm strangely drawn to coloured bathroom suites. I don't think I'd seek one out, but I might not mind if I inherited one. Confused

Ooh yes I could replace the bath panel, good idea! Hmm my other bathroom is a green suite which is OK but the salmon I am not keen on at all, it does seem very limiting! I think these ideas could really work though :)

Salmon can be helped by using cocoa and french blue for your paint , towels, etc, and chrome accessories.

Changing the floor, blind and bath panel will really help too.

You can paint tiles, or get stick on replacements..decals.

I am suitably inspired, thank you :)

Embrace it or rip it out seems to be the advice here

I had the same problem with my ugly 80's bathroom. I'm happy to say that it has now been replaced. As a temporary measure, having tried all kinds of things, the best I could do was to dump the blinds and accessories, paint the walls white, put up clean shower curtain and try to ignore the rest.
