Hi everyone, not sure if this post is in the right place but we are thinking of moving from Berkshire to Wiltshire to get a bit more house for our money and looking at places where you are not far from either the railway station in Bath or Chippenham.
The villages of Neston and Colerne look quite sweet, does anyone know what they are like to live in?
We have a 1 year old and are currently living in a town with lots of friends and lots going on so I am a bit nervous about going somewhere new and not making more friends. Villages are lovely but sometimes hard if you don't know anyone. House prices in Bath are a little to expensive and you don't get much space. I also do really enjoy country living as long as I have some friends….
Sorry if this is very rambling, any advice on what this area is like in general would be so so appreciated :)

I dont know the area really well, we lived 40 mins away & visited friends in Corsham. But its a lovely area (apart from Chippenham) and Bath is fantastic, although as you say to live too near is expensive and living too far away the traffic is really bad and its a pain to get in/out of. Park and ride is a great service though if you could live near one of those.

Corsham is beautiful, a surprisingly busy little village with lots going on. Lovely country walks and enough shops for daily use. The Chippenham Sainsburys is this side too, so only 10 mins away.

Favoured villages for Chippenham folk seem to be Biddestone, Kingston Langley, Kingston St Michael. Chippenham isnt nice though, handy for the train and senior schools are great, but wouldnt want to use it for shopping or socialising.

Theres a good farm shop on the Neston Estate, but I havent seen the village. Isnt this a little far out from the train station? I dont know Colerne at all.
