Moving house question

Passthebiscuittin · 06/08/2014 08:55

We're moving house in a few weeks and just getting some removal quotes - they all suggest packing the day before the move. Does that mean they'll put all our stuff in a van the day before, or just pack into boxes etc? Will we have a bed to sleep on that night?!?Confused

Stuff in boxes. No van until the day of moving unless moving v long distance usually

They won't leave you without beds, either the day before or the day itself,as I remember.

Hmm, interesting. I've just said goodbye to a quote person from a removal company. This was my second and both has said mine will be a two day move due to distance (200 miles) but havent suggested packing the day before, which sounds like quite a good plan to me! Have they said why? Are you moving far? Do you have a lot of "stuff"?

Ours was pack most stuff on day 1 leaving large furniture in place. Packed boxes put on to lorry.
Day 2 was final pack plus large stuff and dismantling beds. Then drive to new house. Assemble beds and unload lorry.
