Moving costs

I'm trying to budget as looking for a new place at the moment. Can anyone let me know how how much money you put aside for moving costs (excluding stamp duty). Other than removal men what other costs do I need to consider? Thanks!

Estate agent fees if you are selling, typically 1-1.5%.

Solicitors fee likely to be between 1 and 3k

Mortgage fees, £500 to £1500 for valuation, sometimes a product fee as well.

It all depends on so many variables though.

We spend 20k recently including stamp duty. Ouch.

Try this, I found it really helpful

I'm in the North West. No mortgage fees but not a great rate as a result. Solicitors are £800, basic survey about £350.

iamusuallybeingunreasonable thanks that link's really useful (although slightly terrifying...)

Thanks all.
