My friend has karndean and it looks fab. At he moment I have bamboo in hall and kitchen and carpet in lounge.

I long for karndean but it's quite costly. Is there anything the same but cheaper or a place that sells it cheaper? Am looking for the wood strip effect.

Can you lay it yourself? Can you put say hardboard down and lay the stuff in top or do you need a fitter?

Sorry lots of questions!!

Hi - it is laid on a screed, presumably on top of a flat surface such as hardboard or concrete. Not sure whether you can lay it yourself - I think it's quite a specialist job. There is also a product called polyflor and there are probably others which are the same thing; Karndean and Amtico are just brand names.

It is deffo a specialist job to lay it well.

I had Karndean & bloody hated it. It needs a special polish applied to it at least twice a year & you have to strip off all the old polish with some special stuff. Right pain!

Look at Polyflor camero, I am very pleased with mine and many people think it is Kardean.
