Delayed completion

I wonder whether anyone can help / advice. We were supposed to complete on our house yesterday at 1pm. Vans were all packed, house cleared then we get a call from solicitors to say money had not been transferred in time so we could not complete. Buyers were hoping to complete ASAP hopefully Monday, was what we were told. So don't even have a definite completion date now.

Has this happened to anyone before? Was hoping to use the weekend to unpack and at least set dc's bed assembled. I can't take any more time off work. Grrr

This happened to us - the bank messed up the transfer so the vendor didn't receive it. We were able to agree a side letter letting us have the keys to get in to clean (occupants were tenants and they had moved out) and we had decided to move the day after completion anyway so we didn't have our things in the removal van. The deal completed the next morning.

Your solicitor should find out what has gone wrong - your employer will be understanding surely?
