How much for a bathroom?

I don't want to get quotes yet because we want to save up a bit.
Our current bathroom is floor to ceiling tiles. Bath with overhead shower. Toilet and sink. Large window.
We want to replace the lot. Get someone to remove old tiles and re-tile the whole lot. Get the bathroom suite fitted.

How much do you think the tradesmen for this would cost? Not the coat of bathroom suite and tiles because I can work that out for myself. Just the actually doing IYSWIM?

We're having ours done at the moment - bath, separate shower, sink, toilet, mostly tiled, moving radiator. We're paying £1750 (including ripping out everything out). It doesn't inlcude electrics (new lighting/fan being done separately by electrician) or flooring (as we've not decided what we want yet).

Oh and although you don't need to know cost of fittings, one thing the shop we got our bathroom from pointed out is that you pay the same for fitting whether it's a cheapy b&q suite or a good quality make, so you might as well pay the extra and get good quality fittings that will last.

Ooohhh that's not as bad as I was expecting... Can I be rude and ask you where you love roughly, I know geography plays a part in this. I'm South East.

Still you're south that's good enough for me... We might be in a position to do this a bit sooner than I expected (I was thinking £3500 which would be about a year of saving for us) so I can think about getting actual quotes soone than I originally planned.
It's not even a large bathroom but I just have no concept of what these things cost to do.

How big is he room? We've been quote d over 5k again and again, we're doing most of it ourselves instead.

We have fully tiled bathroom with separate shower. Very eighties and complete with shell style suite. Had a few quotes to replace in full with modern version incl updating pipework and electrics (v necessary). All between £6k and £7k. In south east. Dh horrified!

Oh crap. It's small. It literally only has room for a bath, toilet and sink. It has a massive window.
I should just get some bloody quotes shouldn't I? Would it be rude to get a quote even though we might not be able to afford it at the moment?

We wouldn't be able to tile ourselves in a million years we are not handy at all! :)

We're wet walling the room. We may extend/remodel in a few years so a full re-tile would be ludicrous for us.

For that big a difference in price you could pay a cheaper firm to put them up in a B+B! We live in the South East too and sounds like we'll have to postpone any plans to redo the bathroom. Awful tiles floor to ceiling will be painted for a start!

We recently changed a small family bathroom into a large ensuite iykwim. Everything ripped out, floor to ceiling tiles ,shower enclosure, sink and toilet. And a doorway moved. All in,labour costs and suite inc. was just over £5k

Wow glad I did mine myself! Got sink, bath, toilet, decent size shower cubicle, 3/4 tiled, towel heater and floor for under £1000

London here, getting mine done shortly for £1500. Two other quotes I had were for around £3000.

Sorry should say the cheap quote is through someone we know, the other two I googled for local tradespeople.
