Maybe an obvious question but first time I have done this. Buyer has suggested a moving date which i agreed to. Its a Wednesday, my plan is to take the Monday and Tuesday off work and have that time plus the weekend to move and clean (moving in with family for a few weeks).

on the Wednesday do i need to be off work? I guess if i am out and the place is cleared by Tuesday night then the solicitors deal with keys and all right? Is there other stuff i need be around for?

thanks in advance

Estate Agents usually do the keys (unless you're in Scotland I guess). So if you're contactable by phone you don't need to be there.

make sure you are contactable though, to confirm all has happened.

but no, if you are out and done early that's fine(did it!). The keys go to the agents (get a signature) and the buyers collect them from there once the solicitor advises that the funds are through.

take meter readings and make sure the place is secured.
