Moving to suffolk

Hi all,
Will be moving in and around bury st edmunds area after october. Just wondering is there any places to avoid. Mildenhall rent seems reasonable to the rest, is there a reason for this?

I am the editor of Mumsnet Suffolk and have tweeted this for you. There are a few threads on this very subject on the local site here.

Mildenhall is near the USAF bases and has had some economic hardships BUT the countryside is lovely, the people are friendly and it is near to so many cool places in the county. Bury St Eds rents are very high so make an inaccurate comparison with other parts of West Suffolk. Ironically USAF staff do push up rents in Bury because they get a rent allowance which local landlords/ladies and agents take full advantage of. Seems to exert less of an effect in other parts of the region though.
