Relocation - Leicester

Hi
We are considering relocating to Leicester from London. We have two little kids and it is important for us to get a house in a good catchment area for schools.
I would be greateful for feedback on areas, nurseries, schools and commute from Leicester to London for work.

Leicester is lovely. It's been a while since I lived there so my schools knowledge is probably out of date but it's worth looking in LE2. Knighton is very nice and Oadby has a nice little centre. Clarenden park is very nice but there are a lot of students and it's expensive (for Leicester).

I would second clarendon park, Knighton, oadby, great glen, kibworth beauchamp, market Harborough, Lutterworth, dunton Bassett, Cosby, littlethorpe and narborough. They are all nice in my opinion.

If you're planning to continue working in London, why would you choose to live in Leicester specifically?

But yes, all the above areas are very nice to live in.

South Leicester along the London Road including Clarendon Park then Knighton and Stoneygate. Slightly further out are Oadby and Great Glen. With these areas one can wizz down London Road to the station. Out along the A6 there are the Kibworths (Beauchamp/Harcourt), the very lovely Langtons and Market Harborough. For the more southerly group it is probably best to commute from Market Harborough.
Gorgeous area.

There is a morning bus lane along London Road into Leicester which speeds things up.

I have friends who like in Knighton, really nice, good schools. That side of the city seems nicer I think.
