Is there a person I can hire to do this?

Dh and I have neither the skills, tools or time to do this list of jobs and I wonder if there is someone (who?) that would be able to put up some furniture (3 pieces), screw a number/name plate to the front of the house and to fit a couple of blinds. Any ideas what tradesman I'm looking for? Thanks

You can still get odd-job men (or women). Find their ads in the local free paper or stuck in newsagents windows. The good ones are busy though.

Thank you, I'll ask on Facebook then for any recommendations. At least I know what I'm asking for now! :)

handy-man/woman is what you need!

Do your local school have a live in caretaker? Go knock on the door.Whilst he's technically working over the holidays (probably) he'll have plenty of time on his hands and may be glad of a bit of extra cash - they get the house but the cash pay is really low and they can generally turn their hands to anything.

Even during term time our caretaker works something like 6:30am -1030am and then 2:30 - 6:30 so he has a gap in the middle that he's happy to fill doing odd jobs for staff etc if there's a bit of cash to be made.

Unfortunately not a live in caretaker no. I don't need them for 2/3 months but in guessing they are booked up in advance as pp said. Annoying because I don't know the exact week things will be delivered and instead will have to look at it all in boxes.
