Renting via an online only agency

Has anyone got any experience of using an online only agency ? (Rentify), there is a property we are interested in but we have only ever rented through an agent where we can go in to see them if there any issues. Are they more like an advertisement agency and you end up dealing directly with the landlord? or do they tend to act like a regular agent and act as a middleman all the way through the tenancy ? (only reviews I can see are from landlords so far)

Hi - I've had a look and they appear to be an online lettings agency so the same as any other letting a agency without an office you go into. They offer LLs a range of services at different prices. You could find a place you like where they are doing everything or one where the LL will be doing everything. Just like a high street letting agency.

I've tried to do a search of their available properties via their website and it isn't working properly on my phone, which is irritating and something I wouldn't want to see as a LL.

I had a look at their site and rentify would not appeal to me as a landlady. Rent collection or property managementis money for old rope when you have a good tenant.

They have pretended to be ALRA registered. They will not make sure the landlord follows the law on gas safety, deposits etc.

Cheers, the property has gone anyway so I need to keep looking.

if they lied about being ARLA members what else are they likely to do wrong?
