Just bought a bungalow. There's a large hot water tank in the kitchen and we want to move it. Can we put it in the loft?

I think you mean a cylinder.

You can

Have it vertical, don't lie it down.

If you buy a new cylinder, it will be well insulated (blue or white) but you must insulate all the pipes very thoroughly, using "regulation" climaflex or similar, which is as thick as your arm. Lofts get very cold, especially if you go on hols in winter.

The cold tank must be higher than the hot cylinder.
