How much to have a new gas cooker installed?

We are having new smart meters fitted.

The men here doing the work have condemned the gas cooker as the safety shut off valve on the hob isnt working.

We are on a budget at the moment, saving for a new kitchen ironically, but will need a working oven in the meantime.

Anyone know how much we are looking at to get the cheapest possible cooker installed asap?

there are quite often special offers at the big high street names where you get free installation with the cooker. Be aware that this only works if the area round it is to spec - no cupboards too close, no flammable items nearby etc.

otherwise I was getting quotes of £70 - £100. If all goes well it is a two minute job but it may not be, and it can only legally be done by someone gas safe registered. So go to the gas safe site and get some local quotes.
