How to judge an estate agent?

We are selling late MIL's house, 300 miles from us.
We have gone with an old established EA - DH's choice simply because he knew they'd been around since he was a child when he lived there.

BUT they are being a bit tardy over communicating with us. They only told us retrospectively , when WE had called them over something else, that there had been 2 viewings. They hadn't followed up and said they would. Same thing happened last week when they had a 'silly offer' over the phone- more of a conversation than a formal offer.

It's on Right Move but apart from that we have no idea how much they are marketing it or how much interest there is.

Are there any online forums or anything that rates estate agents? There are several others in the town, some much newer though none 'fly by night' and we are wondering whether to change agents simply because this lot never keep us in the loop- we always have to check up by calling them.

Allagents is a website that has reviews of EAs

Your agent doesn't sound very good from what you have said
