Cost to move electric circuit breaker

Any idea how much / how complicated it would be to move the circuit board about three feet down on the same wall?

Are there rules about how close they can be to the window?

We need to move a doorway and the circuit board is on where we need the doorway to go. Also have to move the electric meter which I'm sure will be a nightmare and a half.

not at all difficult except that the incoming electrical supply from the meter needs to be turned off, which is usually don't by the Electricity Network operator and the electrician will have to test and certify as safe all the circuits which he works on. Moving the CU affects all the circuits so that means all of them.

It is usual (and best) to test all the circuits prior to quoting for the change, so that any faults or deficiencies which already exist can be budgeted for; and preferably fixed before starting the change.

It will be very tiresome if the change begins, and you then find out there is a major and costly fault that has to be rectified.

It must be done by the network operator, and no-one else. You can send a very short letter to the company that bills you for electricity, requesting a quote to move the meter, and they will (should) log it and pass it along until it reaches the correct person in the correct company. Phone calls will probably be unsuccessful as it is likely to be out of scope of the scripts used by the Customer Service call handlers, especially if they are in Mumbai.

I have a distant hope that I can get the meters shifted a bit over when we get them swamped over for smart meters. That might not be realistic though.
