Cool, Houzz has just launched a UK site

I've been spending too much time on Houzz whilst planning our renovation and extension (first heard about it on here I think), but found wading through all the huge houses in the US a pain - just got an email saying they've launched a UK site (so that we too can buy the featured products no doubt) - looks much more useful!

Yes, it's great isn't. Not sure too many Brit companies are there yet, but hope it grows. I prefer it to Pinterest

Oh good! I love their app, but agree that American houses are not always a helpful model for UK houses. Off to check it out...

Oh brilliant. The US stuff didn't translate that well to my tiny semi!

I am ridiculously excited about this, I can now stop using Rightmove for inspiration!

Yay!

Oh dear, and I'd just convinced myself that I can wait until next year to do up the bathroom.

dontcallmemam · 18/07/2014 18:02

Can someone explain it to me? I can see lots of images of say, gorgeous grey kitchens, but it doesn't tell me what exact colour the units are or where the light fittings are made.
I clicked on questions but it just seemed to be comments.

The comments listed below a photo are what people are writing when they save the image to their own idea book - usually a reminder if what it is they liked about the picture. I think you can click on Questions and send a query direct to the designer/owner about the paint colour for example. On Houzz proper, some pictures have little sales tags on, which means there's an item in the image that's been identified and you can buy. I haven't seen any of those rages on the uk site pictures yet, but I assume that'll start happening over time.

I've seen a tag that linked to the supplier's site so they're definitely there.

dontcallmemam · 18/07/2014 19:47

Thanks. I'm a fan of the US site but mostly for inspiration.

How do you use rightmove to inspire? Look on properties for sale?
