Ramsden/other East Cotswold villages...

Does anyone know Ramsden/that area? We're thinking of moving out but the 2 concerns I have are:

1. commutability to W London (I can figure that one out)

1. friendliness/community. Having uprooted umpteen times for DH's job over the years and having to start from scratch making friends with varying success, I now have a nice bunch of close friends where I live and am a bit worried that it will be harder now I don't have young kids which are always a good social lynchpin iykwim.

So,,,, Ramsden. Any experience?

I know that area well.

1. Drive to Charlbury or Long Hanborough and catch the fast train to Paddington.

1. Not sure about this. It's a small village. Lots going on in Charlbury/Stonesfield/Woodstock/witney though.
