fence quote

We've recently moved and the fence is rotten, falling down under the weight of ivy and hedge. For 18 panels with a gate and removing all the greenery from the roots (there is a lot), I have been quoted £2100. I'm getting two more quotes but does this sound reasonable? We are in the south east.

Have been quoted £850 for five new panels, six new posts.

We paid £650 for 7 panels and posts and waste removal recently.

Thanks for the quick responses. Sounds like it might be about right. DH now wanting to buy cheap panels and do it himself but I know that will be a disaster.

I don't think panels are very cheap - the cost of goods is part of the problem!

Our fence panels were around £40 each, I think. Also took ages to get the ones we wanted (national fencing shortage after the storms earlier in the year).
