I want to move NOW! Does anyone want to join me in a moan?

Our fixed rate was up last November, plan was always to move shortly after that time. Circumstances changed and we waited a few months before putting our house up for sale.

Its a shared ownership and we had to have it up for sale with the house association for 6 weeks before we could go through an estate agent. I thought it would never take that long because 2 bedroom shared ownership houses with a low share are very sought after. Silly me, the HA are crap and market it on their own website that most people don't even know about. I had one viewing in that time (that I got myself by advertising it on Gumtree, advised to do by the HA themselves).

As soon as the 6 weeks was up, we went through an EA, loads of viewings lined up. First person offered within the hour and that was that (end of April now). The house we wanted to buy was available at exactly the right time and plan was to be in for the summer.

We pulled out of that house because there were problems with it that we didn't want to take on but we had an offer accepted on another one within 3 days. Yay.

New mortgage rules have meant we have had a few problems and Nationwide were being ridiculous over what they were willing to lend so we are going with Halifax. Have a MIP but now waiting for the mortgage offer. We had a MIP with Nationwide but they turned us down for that amount at the application stage. Now we have told our solicitors that nothing is to be done until we have the mortgage offer so we know that we can proceed.

Apparently our buyer is going to get anxious in 4 weeks Hmm, but we don't know why, we have asked but no answer.

Every time I deal with someone, they say something different to the previous person, or something different to what they said before. The whole process is driving me mad!!

I am fed up now and I WANT TO MOVE NOW.

I am fed up of being in limbo, I am fed up of not knowing, I am fed up of relying on others who are incompetent. I am fed up of being half packed and constantly saying "when we move this, when we move that" I am fed up of still saving because they may not lend the amount we want and we may need to top it up (although if they come back with the paltry amount that Nationwide did, its game over anyway).

Grrrrrr. Bored now!

I also can't wait to move!

As we're in a 'chain' I keep worrying that the other persons offer might fall through! I just want to sign all the paperwork now and get my keys!
I've already packed half my things as we were told a date we would 'probably' be in by... its taking an extra 2 weeks from the date they said - still haven't signed final paperwork though??

already bought new furniture and everything for the house we don't own yet which is stuck in warehouses.... probably a very bad idea to buy things before you own the house..,but me and my boyfriend are first time buyers and sooo excited ! haha at least we were.. now it's just stressful.. :(

I want to move too, we should have moved yesterday but out buyer pulled out at the very last minute last week so now we are back waiting for other people. Luckily just waiting for our new buyer who is in rented, but so frustrating, have lost count of how many times I've said "when we move"

FluffyDucky · 12/07/2014 20:52

Yes feeling your pain here! weer are first time buyers and I'm no chain. This is the 16th week since our file was marked as sstc by solicitors.! We are constantly waiting for info from the sellers end, yet I can never get through to the solicitors in the phone (I've never actually spoke to her directly! )
It wad suggested here to get my EA to call the sellers solicitors to char them. I just want my new home!

Even my DH is fed up now and saying he just wants to be in our new house. He never gets impatient, unlike me who wants everything now Grin.

I have been googling trying to find out how long Halifax are taking for their mortgage approvals, haven't found anything useful. Some scary stuff about 18 days and that's quick! Bloody hope not.

I got my mortgage offer on Thursday and we have no chain either side so everything should be ok... But I just want it all to happen quickly! Spending lots of time looking at furniture, paint colours etc. online.

Currently live in a flat and my neighbours have been extra noisy today. Can't wait to be rid of them and own a whole house!

CrapBag · 12/07/2014 23:03

How long did it take your mortgage offer to come through once the application was in, valuation was done and the had all the documents they asked for?

Oh I hear you!

Our house sold stc within a month of going on the market. Place we want offer accepted Halifax bodged our mortgage app and it took 3wks then they refused it. Got a broker and got it all sorted. Only for our buyers to back out.

Been back on the market for nearly 4wks and nothing.

Given our EAs notice and going with another one. Tbh not overly confident. Our dream house is still up for sake as vendor won't wait for us to get another buyer.

Meanwhile we are 2.5grand out of pocket. Desperate to sell and our dream house is slipping away.

Good luck OP!

CrapBag · 12/07/2014 23:33

Oh God that's awful! Hope you get a buyer soon.

Our buyer pulling out is my biggest fear.

Apparently he is anxious because our EAs are telling him that we are delaying our solicitors doing any work on our purchase. I doubt they have bothered to explain its because we've already lost hundreds and don't want to fork out more money until it is confirmed that we can have the mortgage.

He has said he will wait though, he did ask if we would go into rented. Not a chance, do not want to go back there, tie ourselves up with a 6 month contract and pay more than double what we are now.
