Our fixed rate was up last November, plan was always to move shortly after that time. Circumstances changed and we waited a few months before putting our house up for sale.
Its a shared ownership and we had to have it up for sale with the house association for 6 weeks before we could go through an estate agent. I thought it would never take that long because 2 bedroom shared ownership houses with a low share are very sought after. Silly me, the HA are crap and market it on their own website that most people don't even know about. I had one viewing in that time (that I got myself by advertising it on Gumtree, advised to do by the HA themselves).
As soon as the 6 weeks was up, we went through an EA, loads of viewings lined up. First person offered within the hour and that was that (end of April now). The house we wanted to buy was available at exactly the right time and plan was to be in for the summer.
We pulled out of that house because there were problems with it that we didn't want to take on but we had an offer accepted on another one within 3 days. Yay.
New mortgage rules have meant we have had a few problems and Nationwide were being ridiculous over what they were willing to lend so we are going with Halifax. Have a MIP but now waiting for the mortgage offer. We had a MIP with Nationwide but they turned us down for that amount at the application stage. Now we have told our solicitors that nothing is to be done until we have the mortgage offer so we know that we can proceed.
Apparently our buyer is going to get anxious in 4 weeks
, but we don't know why, we have asked but no answer.
Every time I deal with someone, they say something different to the previous person, or something different to what they said before. The whole process is driving me mad!!
I am fed up now and I WANT TO MOVE NOW.
I am fed up of being in limbo, I am fed up of not knowing, I am fed up of relying on others who are incompetent. I am fed up of being half packed and constantly saying "when we move this, when we move that" I am fed up of still saving because they may not lend the amount we want and we may need to top it up (although if they come back with the paltry amount that Nationwide did, its game over anyway).
Grrrrrr. Bored now!
