We need to reside our house. It's currently white with gray trim and a red door. I quite like this though!

What d'ya think of these colors?

Sorry cheerful, not a big fan myself. If I were to use the blue would probably have a white door.

I think it's nice on that house, but it depends on where your house is, what it looks like, and what the neighbouring houses look like. Can you share any more info?

I think that looks great. We have a yellow front door with white trim and dark green siding, as we were told blue would fade very quickly in the very intense sunlight we get here. The painters were really unsure about it, but admitted it looks really good when it was finished. In our back yard we have purple railings and I'm quite tempted next repaint to go for purple, it's a family favourite (although might affect the chances of us selling maybe!)

We went through at least ten tester pots before deciding on colour Grin

Caitlin my house is in Minnesota. It's... technically I think it's a bungalow. It's two stories but the top is slanted and a bit small. We don't have a front porch yet but will be adding one. The houses around here are tan, yellow, gray, or brown for the most part. There are a few blue ones but none with a yellow door. :)

I think it's lovely and would would good in your house in America, not quite so good in a 1960's semi in suburban England though!

WhatWouldCaitlinDo · 12/07/2014 20:00

Sounds like it would look lovely. Good luck!

Joanna2010 · 12/07/2014 23:09

I love it! Wouldn't suit my 1940s semi :)

I think the blue is a little overpowering, though I suppose it depends how close your neighbours are. I think this is nicer- the blue is less turquoisey

What about yellow like this?

I really like grey with white trim, and a red door... maybe just have a repaint? Grin

Yellow is so pretty but perhaps it depends on how much sun you get?

This is very pretty- with a red door still!

Grey goes fantastically with yellow too

I really love grey and red just such a gorgeous combination.

Can you tell I'd love a clapboard house? Wink

hashtagwhatever · 13/07/2014 00:11

Blue with a pale pink door would look amazing.

CheerfulYank · 13/07/2014 04:53

I do love the colors we've got now Fram but the upkeep on the white is hard. :)

I love the yellow but my next door neighbor has that color...

It is lovely.

Fram · 13/07/2014 23:00

What about a more periwinkle or cornflower-type blue?

CheerfulYank · 14/07/2014 07:55

Maybe, Fram! :)

Also I'm trying to picture it with the inevitable 3 feet of snow we'll have...

I was looking for colour inspiration for a similar thing and came across some lovely colour palettes in this guide which has the cornflour blue in that Fram suggested! You could pair it or one of the other blues with a minky colour and ash... Or a light yellow would work perhaps?
