The main reason for posting is to get some opinions from others out there that may have sold recently or rented out their home. My husband travels for work and we are looking at the possibility of relocating. We relocated to the West Country seven years ago and unfortunately can't afford to buy in the county my husband works in.
Constant travelling and my husband being away from the family home is starting to take it's toll on the whole family. We would love to move back to Berkshire but prices are so expensive and we'd struggle to get a bigger mortgage at present,as my husband is also self employed.
We are considering renting our home for a couple of years then trying to extend the mortgage if possible or part buy/ rent schemes. Does anyone have any experience of these and if so how did you find the process. Also if anyone there has rented their home out,any good advice would be welcomed.
