Has anyone bought/researched ovens in the past year or two and can recommend what they have chosen? We need to buy a new double oven, built under size. We're looking in the £700ish price range. Do they differ that much from one another. Do we just go on aesthetics? We prefer the bottom oven to be as large as possible and top oven much smaller which rules out the JL own brand one.

They are all pretty much the same on size and function. Generally built under double ovens offer very poor value for money and they are built ONLY for the UK market. No one else buys them and the small production runs mean they arent very economical to produce. You have already seen that the cavities are tiny.

Unless you have to have 2 cavities for cooking, a single oven will offer much more choice and value.

In terms of quality product, a Bosch, Neff or Siemens is your best bet for a double oven given that there isnt a better quality manufacturer making them.

We do a lot of cooking and definitely need a double oven. We currently have a double built under and use it a lot. There's no option in the kitchen to have a built in double or two singles.
