Ours look 6 weeks last summer.
There might be a guide on your council portal.

There are problems around the country. Here it is 5-6 wks, it was 7-10 days a few months ago.

In some areas you can pay £35 extra and get them done in a week.Solicitor should know.

BumWad · 07/07/2014 23:43

Ours took less than 2 weeks about 6 weeks ago!

Depends on the local authority - try speaking to them to get an idea of timescales. In our area it can take up to 10 weeks!!

Thanks everyone. :) Apparently they cant do any searches until the person selling the house and the solicitor have sent details, so we could be looking at October at this rate! So much for the new school term :(

All our searches had come back 24 days (in April) after instructing our solicitor. Obviously don't know how long it was before he applied for them.

depends on the area - a quick call to your local council will tell you. Last time I bought ours were back in a week, our council evidently don't have a lot of work on!
