I'm considering electric underfloor heating for the house we are going to buy and was wondering what the bills are going to be like also cost to install etc .The house is 3 bed mid terrace (aroung 850 sq feet). I have read in some threads where people say they are shocked by the bills etc but the threads are not recent so anyone currently/recently had electric UFT please advice..

energy from electricity costs about three times as much as energy from gas.

Need I say more?

My FIL had electric underfloor heating put in his wet room last year - from what I remember the actual cost to buy it wasn't that bad - however, his electricity bills are absolutely shocking when it is used (he lives on his own so it makes a noticeable difference to his bill, £100's of pounds)! Trouble is, it takes quite a while to heat up the floor before you actually feel the heat coming through, so it uses a lot of electricity before you even feel the benefit!
