Can you fit plantation shutters if you have secondary glazing?

Have you managed to so this

Would love shutters rather than blinds but secondary glazing seems to take up quite a lot of the available space

I am having secondary installed and the shutter guy reckons installation is no problem, he will just have to build out the frame a bit more.
