Hi all you MN'ers,

Quick question to all you mathematicians,
How much land would you need to build (just under) 3,000 square foot house???

I dont think there is 1 answer to this. Would depend on the style of house, so a 3 storey house would need less land than a 2 storey 3000sq ft house. There are too many variations.

How big a garden do you want?

I'd have thought an acre.

We were going to build a potton house which was 3,000 sq ft. Another client of theirs had built one on 1/3 0f an acre, but really, half and acre would be a sensible minimum.

Large houses need large gardens.

Our house is 3700 sq ft and is on an acre. Our neighbour is on 3/4 of an acre and I wouldn't want to go smaller than that.
