A question for the architects

We've finally got the money together for a loft conversion which will be a fairly basic job as we can't fit a bathroom in, but want to include a dormer. Now, we have a friend who is part way through his stage 3 qualifications so is more than capable of drawing the plans up for us (and has done this already) but can't sign them off as he still has at least another year before he qualifies at the right level.

Now, would a fully qualified architect be able to take these plans and sign them off for hopefully a cut price? I don't really want to ask an architect we might use for fear of annoying them if this is an absolute no in the profession! Said friend seems to think we won't have a problem but I wanted to check with other first.

And finally, does anyone know an architect that might do this for us in N Kent / SE London?

That's a very good point! And he might be able use it in his portfolio...this might come together yet.
