Selling our house....... After many viewings accepted offer at Easter. Chain completed early May. So 3 houses and 4 parties in the chain we are piggy in the middle. Our buyer has sold to first time buyer, the one we buying are going to rent but have pulled out of a previous sale cos it wasn't progressing quick enough

All legal work done on ours and one we buying, our buyer hits snag - his converted cellar no building regs. FTB not happy - wants him to get building regs, they agreed indemnity insurance if mortgage company ok with. Wait for answer from mortgage for ages, says ok. Phew back on can we agree a date ......
No FTB still not happy wants building regs or full survey. Our buyer says no to regs but ok to survey.... So now we have to wait again for survey to be done and then FTB to agree

So I am desperate to move, everything is on hold, worried about our vendor getting peed off with wait, had no other offers on ours so want to wait for our buyer, it is all totally out of our control all we can do is wait and am totally STRESSED OUT WITH IT ALL ARRRGGGGGGHHHHH

Your buyer should be asking agents to feel the pulse of the market, and encouraging informal viewings "in case it should come back on the market shortly"

So should you.

Thanks for reply, I know that is probably the best idea but my heart not ready to let go of the chain, still hoping it will all be ok.

to keep things sweet with your buyers, get it passed to them that you want them to set an ultimatum with their buyer and that theirs is going back on the market in 'x' if arses aren't got in gear. Say that you want to keep them and so don't want to remarket yours at this stage. Also keep your vendor informed. Your estate agent may have to do all this.

this worked for us - we had people at the bottom of the chain who thought everyone else were immaterial and could wait. Making it clear that they should stop dicking about did the trick.

surveys can be arranged within a day or two.
