Fake grass?

Can we lay this on top of flags? How do you stop it sliding around, does it have to be pegged down?

We are letting our house and have a very rough area of flags/ dirt which we used as the 'dog area' of the garden. I think it would look nice with some fake grass on it but is it practical. It would be quite expensive to be wrong?

The alternative seems to be gravel but I don't think that would be as nice for the tenant's children.

No idea about laying it easy maintenance, looks good etc but someone told me it wears badly -- so maybe not a great idea if tenants will have kids who will wreck it?

It needs proper drainage underneath. You can't lay it on top of flags.
