Has anyone received kitchen quotes from b&q and howdens recently?

And how did they compare? Had a b and q one last week and howdens are coming round next week. I expect them to be more expensive but just wondering if it is marginal or whether there'll be a significant difference.

I had quotes from both fof a very small utility room and b&q was just over half the price of howdens. (This was with a trade point card). On bigger jobs there might not be so much difference?

We had a Howdens kitchen fitted nearly 2 years ago. B&Q's quote was £3,000 more than Howdens ... Howdens units come already assembled so technically kitchen won't take so long to fit. The units are also thicker and better quality than b&q , but you need to have a fitter with a Howdens account.

I had a Homebase and a Howdens quote - Homebase £1,000 more expensive than Howdens and a 6 week wait for units. Howdens available next day - and as mrss says they are ready built so quicker to install.

Thanks for the replies. We're having a extension so builder doing that is fitting the kitchen. Keep hearing Howdens is much better quality than B and Q do hoping it's not too much more expensive

H prefers the Howdens ones - as mentioned they come pre assembled. In our experience our local Howdens are more efficient than the big impersonal B & Q service - mistakes and changes on a recent howdens fit he did were sorted out quickly.

Pricewise the difference is you can go into B & Q and buy a kitchen in their sale - Howdens will only supply to your builder and he probably won't pass on any discount to you! !

I think the B & Q Cooke and Lewis ones are decent quality but not cheap.

Our builder passed on the full discount (saw the invoice) - between 70 & 80% Shock on their list prices. He made his money on the fitting.

We paid the price quoted by the Howdens design person .. as nbee said, our fitter made his money from the fitting! So the price in the catalogue was the price we paid plus fitting. Quality of the units is so much better than B&Q and I really don't think you'll find Howdens expensive in comparison to B&Q.

Well I’ve decided to have a new kitchen with Howdens. I’ll let you know the price, quality and service. Using my own fitter.
They have a sale on October 1st 2020.
