Nets/voiles, own pole?

I am looking at/for curtains for our new home (if we ever get to bloody move in!) I would quite like some nets/voiles in the living & bedroom as they look out into the communal garden. Do they need their own pole? And where does the pole go, under the curtain pole?

Yes you put them on their own pole, but it's usually far thinner than an ordinary curtain pole. It can just be a sort of stretchy wire which hooks on at both ends, because it will usually be invisible as the nets/voiles cover it.

It usually goes closer in to the window than the curtain pole, often even inside the window frame itself.

We don't have them, but there is evidence they were there! You get poles for them which hook onto pads with a little metal rod sticking out of them - the pads just stick to your window frame (some of them are still there in our house). Or you could hook them onto a curtain track at the top of your window frame and have curtains on a rod positioned higher up. Depends on the windows and personal taste.

Ah fab thanks! I figured they must have been on their own pole etc.. otherwise you wouldn't be able to close the curtains, but I just couldn't imagine it for some reason!
