Induction hob with flexi zone, worth it?

Hi, we are thinking of getting an extra wide induction hob. I've seen some Neff ones with a flexi cooking area, but they are not cheap. Is it worth paying more for that feature?

Watching with interest. I've got a Siemens standard 4 ring induction hob that I love but I'd be interested to know about flexi zones.

Mine is a standard size but you can combine a front one and a back one.

Before I bought it and saw the maximum dimension of a pan, I cut out a template from paper and then went shopping, I found the biggest pan would still be small for me for some things like cooking quesadillas.

So we spent big and got a De Dietrich one. If I could have gone for a 90+cm one I would have but we were limited to a 60cm extractor so ours is 63cm wide.

It is this one retails around the £800 mark.

I love it in every respect. And I do put larger items on and combine the two zones, so a bigger frying pan and a casserole dish. It also takes a tiny espresso maker.

Thanks. I've decided to go for an extra wide Neff hob, which has one flexible cooking zone and three rings. Will report back!

I have a 900mm wide Miele induction hob but the zones do not merge, but is this what you mean by flexible? I do not own a pan that would need this and you must have pans that work on induction hobs. Any old casserole and giant pan may not. I have a pretty big frying pan and the largest cooking zone is more than adequate for this. By flexi, do you mean each "ring" has several zoned areas? If so, the Miele does have this.
