Party wall insurance for basement works?

Has anyone done this?
We are about to have our basement dug out and live in a terraced house.
Part of the basement is there already as a restricted head height cellar which they are digging down a metre.
Part is new.
I read about party wall insurance somewhere ages ago when we first looked at this but can't find it now! - does anyone know about party wall insurance? Is it a good idea? What does it cover?
Totally new at this so would really appreciate any advice
Thanks

I'm guessing this is the kind of thing you are looking into.
I would speak to a specialist building insurance broker - if they can't help they should be able to point you in the direction of a company that can.
I've never done it myself so can't give a direct recommendation sorry.

Thanks for that wonky. Great back ground and makes lots of sense.
Will ask insurers when we notify them about the house work. Hadn't though of special renovations insurance either
