Repointing an outdoor step- DIY or find a builder?

I have two steps leading down from my back door. The mortar between the two steps is cracked and some has fallen away. The steps seem stable. Do you know if this would be simple to do myself, or should I look for a general builder (or someone else)?

mipmop I mortared a brick edging in the garden and repointed a bit of walling after asking dh to do it for several years months. It's easy. I watched a you-tube video and bought the basic ready mix mortar from B and Q and got on and bloody did it All By Myself.

I'd say, don't pay an expensive man to do it unless you are a perfctionist of the most extreme. Then spend the cash you've saved on something just for you.
