As some will know, the property chain that I was in collapsed couple of weeks ago when the people at the top of the chain pulled out of their purchase just a few days before exchange due to problems with the house.
They have found another property now but it is the house at the end of another property chain that had fallen through (but at the beginning of the chain rather than the end). So they have in effect joined two broken chains together....
We originally had 5 properties in our chain... by joining the chain together with the other chain we now have 8 properties... The chain is 10 families/people if you include the investment buyer at the beginning of the chain and the people right at the very end!
Wondering if 10 is some kind of record?!?!?
I know the odds of something else going wrong with such a long chain are troublesome but I am hopeful that because the first 4 properties in the original chain were all ready to exchange and complete that this improves our odds! Apparently the second chain were fairly close to exchange too so hopefully in similar position.
