I believe he's tried to pull the wool over my eyes and have given me illegal information ( had this confirmed by shelter)
Basically ll wants to sell the house I rent. We are in a fixed term contract till early next year. He said if he sells to an owner occupier the tenancy contract becomes void and we have to leave.
I've been told this is illegal and incorrect.
Does anyone know who I can report him too if needs be??

it certainly is wrong - sale of the house does not invalidate your tenancy which still runs to the end. He's stuck with you and cannot do anything to force you to leave.

letting agents do not have to be regulated (which is a big part of the problem) but if he does belong to any association, get on to them. They will probably do nothing so don't expect much.

so is the landlord (owner of the property) also a letting agent and estate agent?
