We have reserved a new build property, off plan. We reserved in February and were told the expect completion to be September/October time. We received a call in April explaining that the house would be ready for completion in August and to arrange the mortgage etc which we have done.
Last week, I chased them and was told that it had been pushed back to September. When pushed, she said early September. This is the sales lady.
As we are due to exchange contracts soon, I asked the solicitor to request confirmation of the expected completion date. The Bellway office have now said October 2014. This is of course frustrating and disappointing.
Am I right to not believe a word that the sales woman says? Given that August was a definite in April. I'm not sure what to do about exchange. Once we have our deposit has gone, and so has our leverage. We do really want the house though.
Any advice out there?
