Internal Doors! Where in the UK can I find a plain hollow door which is bigger than average? I have looked everywhere and I am sort of desperate. They are the typical council doors with the honeycomb cardboard rubbish inside.

Has anyone got any ideas? We are in Hertfordshire. Wickes, Homebase, Travis Perkins, B&Q tried them all they just don't seem to sell the size.

Mil had this. She bought a door and put a wedge of wood at the top...

It looks better than it sounds...

Problem is if it's not too small in height it's to small in width and/or depth, so frustrating!

Thank you though.

I suppose you could get a door custom-made, but I would be inclined to make the opening a standard size. What size is the opening now?

CarCiKoTab · 16/06/2014 10:25

I hope I have measured right but it's about H 2020mm x W 818mm x D40mm I think. Wouldn't custom made be expensive?

Try asking at a local builders providers instead of a big hardware chain.

There are loads on eBay, that's where we got ours. Type in item no: 330916900381, one of the options is the size you want but there are hundreds of others too.

Thanks all for advice we have managed to get one through a friend. Cheaper than what we was originally quoted as well.
