Northchurch

Can anyone tell me what it's like living in Northchurch? My daughter is expecting her first child and is looking to move nearer me (I live in Great Gaddesden). She can't afford the properties in Great Gaddesden and Berkhamsted etc but has some cheaper properties in Northchurch. I've not lived here long either so don't really know the the area that well. The alternative is Hemel but don't really like it there.
Any advice would be great.

Tring is worth looking at and probably a bit more going on. Northchurch has a school and lovely walks by the canal. Just up the road is the Ashridge estate and I pass the coffee shop near the school and it seems busy. There is a parade of shops but houses on the main road seem close to the traffic. There is more choice of everything in Tring.
