Am I worrying over nothing?

We put an offer on a house (been on the market for just over a year, owner wants a quick sell and has had the price lowered 3 times), our offer has been accepted and the owner has agreed to take it off the market and there's no chain involved. Today, I sent off, emailed as well for back-up, all the paperwork the asked/required of us.

Thing is we only put an offer on it 4 days ago and was told Monday that it had been accepted. Is this normal? Do owners accept offers so quickly? I'm just nervous and worried that it's moving too quickly already and something is gunna fall through. We're first time buyers so this is all new and sounds a bit too good to be true...

Stop worrying.
If the offer has been accepted and it's off the market then it's going through! All obviously subject to contract! And searches and surveys and mortgage offer etc!

Congratulations on you first home! Xx

We've normally had offers accepted same day actually.

Same/next day offer acceptance here too. Just check on all websites that the property now shows 'under offer' or 'sstc'. Good luck!

Thank you. Now I can adhere to DH's words and stop worrying... as much!

Good luck, too, artistic!

The house fell through due to the owner backing out yesterday :(

However, I called the agent of the house we were originally going to put in for - the first one we fell in love with - and asked if it was still up for viewings and still on sale, so DH and I went to view it after he finished work, and we still love it (the house we did bid for had the slight edge by having an extra room) even more so. So, we put in an offer, and we'll find out before 7.30pm if it's been accepted.

We decided to put the offer in, as soon as, because we'd be heartbroken if we hesitated and lost this house too.

Urgh.

I'm so sorry about the first house, but this one sounds promising! Do come back and say what happens!

Funny how your instincts were right about that other house, isn't it?

So spent the last 2 hours in a "bidding" war with another 3 buyers, and our last offer was accepted! :)

Yeah, a it's funny thing. When it fell through I was gutted and when I contacted about our first choice my stomach went nervous and I had butterflies then when they said the owner was taking final offers today. My gut twisted and was desperate to see it one last time and see if I had the same feelings. I did and I knew we had to put an offer in.

Yay! Was the bidding war very expensive? How much over asking price dud it finally go for?

MultipleMama · 01/07/2014 23:42

Very expensive but I'm so so glad that we just nitched it under budget! Went over by €2450... those bidders were bloody ruthles!
