Removal firms in SE London?

Sorry, I know there have been loads of threads on this but when searching I can only find ones from 2011/12.

We are (I dearly hope) moving from West Norwood to Honor Oak (roughly four miles) and are looking for a full packing service the day before the move, and to include some furniture disassembly and reassembly the other end (but not unpacking).

My sister recommended Cupboard Love removals who I have asked for a quote - she has just moved both house and office with them and a colleague of hers has used them loads.

However I'd like to get a second quote especially as they seem to mostly cover north London.

Any suggestions:?

Hi lesson, we are in SE20 and are using Pickfords. I also had quotes from James Removals, Bishops Move, Caseys, Coppards and Harradines. We are doing full packing service and Pickfords weren't the cheapest but are BAR members. Quotes ranged between £1200 and £2300. (4 bed house).

I quite liked James removals too.

We used Harradines (we were moving SE22 to SE26). It cost us £1300 for full packing service and furniture reassembly for our 3 bed flat.
They were really good, and the blokes were v helpful and friendly. Would definitely use them again.

Highly highly highly recommend Janusz and team from JT Enterprises. They were phenomenonal for us on a very stressful move day and just lovely blokes. We did the full pack and move service (and they came back the next day to do handyman jobs) and they were worth every penny. Jan's number is 07850 716079. Good luck and so glad to hear you found a place! Honor Oak is lovely, I am in Forest Hill and it's gorgeous.

Oh I think we paid about £1300 to move from a 3-bed house in Peckham. It was reasonable compared with other quotes.

I used James Removals and they were excellent. They can also store your stuff overnight in a large depot (or longer term securely) if you have work to do when you move in and it would be helpful to leave a few rooms empty.

Aw thanks Lulupeg - and to everyone for recommendations, much appreciated! X

We used Gentleman and a Van for SE22 to SE22, and my friend used them SE22 to SE23- we both found them great! I paid about 700 inc tips for a full packing move of a 2 bed flat, but it was a few years ago now.

I'd second lulupeg's recommendation for Jan from JT Entreprises too- I only know him as a handyman, and he is really great- prompt, speedy, and seems to be able to do just about any job we throw at him.

Jan is amazing! He is a bit of a legend in our household :)

Good luck with the move Lessons!

Thanks! We have a quote from Cupboard Love, just getting one from Janusz. Full packing service and disassembly and reassembly of 6 bookcases and a bed at £1450 so far which I think is amazing value. Hopefully, hopefully, this one will work out Grin

If it falls through, we were very happy with Harradines - moved us from SE15 to deepest Sussex and were fab

I used Roberts & Dennys Removals & Storage - they are based in Peckham and moved my mum's stuff from Norbury SW16 to Bromley. I can't remember exactly how much it cost but she was satisfied with the quote and really happy with their service www.removal-online.com/

LawnOrnament · 13/06/2014 21:30

We used Roberts & Dennys as well. We only got a half pack but they were under £1000 I think. We thought it was good value for moving from a 3 bed flat to a house as we have loads (I mean loads) of books & records.

schmalex · 14/06/2014 06:47

We used James removals and were very happy with them.

Another vote for Harradines. Very efficient and friendly.
My friend got a really good deal from Robert & Dennys, maybe worth checking out.
Honor Oak - good choice!
