What happens if you cant find your paperwork when selling? I thought it was stored at the solicitors but they say I was supposed to collect it and they don't have it, they are having another look. I have photo copies of plans for an extension done before we bought. What else should I have? Should I be panicking?

Copies of planning permission & building regs can be found through your council.
If it's from the past 5-10yrs it may be free online, if not hard copies can be obtained from them but may cost a small fee.
Your building title deeds should be available from the land registry
Your conveyancer should be able to sort both of these out.
