Where should we move to????

We have our house on the market. We're near Henley and Marlow and do like the area but have no real ties so thinking of moving west-ish. Dh works 3or 4 days a week in Brentford, I run a will writing business but do most of it over the phone so can work anywhere. Dh happy to do v long commute as only 3 days pwk but ideally we'd be good to be in M4 corridor.

I think we'll get more for our money the further from London we go.
Does anyone know Newbury/Hungerford/villages around there?

DS away at uni now and will then go in the Army so we don't need to worry about schools etc.

House must be detached with around an acre. Budget up to £1.2.

Wow you seem in a good situation! There are lots of pretty villages around junctions 10-13 on m4. I would just have a drive around one sunny day. Depends on how rural you want to be? Wokingham nice. Compton, Pangbourne, sindlesham are more rural...

I love West Berkshire. Loads of lovely places.

How about Goring and Streatley?

Or this is gorgeous and well in budget. The Streatley side of the river is probably nicer too I think.

Have had a chat about money and apparently we can go up to £1.4 if we cash in some shares so have a bit more wiggle room.

We went round Hungerford yesterday and back thru' goring and streatley, all of which were v nice.

Definitely want rural, def not ultra modern. Ideal house probably Georgian tho there are some tempting thatched cottages around as well.

All we have to do is sell ours first
