Engineered Wood Floor vs new Wood Laminates

Hi - I'm arguing with DH about floor choice for a development rental flat in a nice area in London. DH wants to put in wood laminate and I would rather put in oak engineered. We will be renting it for 1 year and then we will probably sell it.

I really don't like those flimsy floors, but have wood laminates improved? I know that they are considerably cheaper but I just don't think I can put it down.

Does any recommend wood laminate?

if you aren't living there and then you will be selling to some extent it doesn't really matter what your opinion is? what will do the job for the least effort and cost to you ?

if it is a flat, carpets will cause less aggravation, and your tenants are less likely to be murdered by their neighbours due to the noise.

It may even be a condition of your lease.
