Very stressed waiting to hear news about our moving date

It's either going to be this Friday coming, the 6th or anytime after the 20th because the people we are buying off are going on holiday! I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have a toddler so we were really hoping to be in by now! I'm holding my breath in the hope they decide to move before they go away. I just can't bear the thought of moving with only 2 or 3 weeks till baby is due!

I don't have any advice really, but I sympathise, I hate uncertainty and having to rely on other people deciding what's happening, and I can't imagine how much worse it must be when you're heavily pregnant! All I wanted to do by 34 weeks was nest and eat whilst sticking toddler DD in front of cbeebies whilst I lay on the sofa

Is the estate agent fighting your corner at all? Do the vendors know how pregnant you are?

Still no news and I'm getting so worried now! Yes they know I'm pregnant. The agent has been great to be fair and is pushing for this Friday. Not looking good as we were meant to complete today and it's now 3pm!

Exchange not complete today! Baby brain!

:-( Fingers crossed it still happens. It's ridiculous that their holiday should be more important than your position. Is there anyone else in the chain?

I think waiting to exchange/complete is the most stressful part. If completion can't take place this week, you could defer exchange until the vendors are back from holiday and you review how things are. It might be worth talking to your removal people about their packing service so they can do the whole lot. If completion is to happen after their holiday, do you have really good friend/relative/neighbour who would come in and give your old place a quick clean after furniture has left and give them authority to collect keys - that way you are covered if you want your partner there during labour.

I know I'm really upset that people could put a holiday before their/our move knowing I only have 6 weeks till due date!
We already have a packing service booked, I have SPD so that was booked right away. My mother in law is coming to clean and help, she's fab!
One other in the chain, no idea what's happening there? We rent just now so in a way lucky, although we were meant to move out Friday and still here! Just hoping they don't get funny and ask us to go. All ok with them so far but if it goes on after this week then god knows what will happen!

Ok so it looks like it's going to be 25th June! Can't believe I'm going to be 37 weeks pregnant by the time we move! Gutted!

I bet you are so frustrated. Can they exchange before this so you know exactly what's happening with house move? That way the plans you have can certainly be put in place. Might be worth giving the removal men a plan of your new house beforehand with a rough description of what you want to go where and label everything so they're clear. That way you've totally covered if you do have little one early.

We were hoping to complete on 28th May, top three ready and then we found out there was another person in the chain who hadn't even applied for their mortgage.

I moved at 37 weeks with DC2 and what made it worse was I needed to arrange a C section after I moved and couldn't start the process until I was in the new city. I thought I would give birth on moving day I had so many contractions but it was all fine and my lovely aunt of 70 came and helped with everything.
Just accept you will be ornamental and can't fetch and carry anything. You could just give orders!

I am lucky I have family who can help. We are hoping to exchange by the end of this week. I really just need a definite date now and I'll feel better about things I think!
